One of Those Ideas I Wish I'd Thought Of Myself

Thanks to Larry Lehmer of "Passing it On"
(http://whenwordsmatter.typepad.com/passing_it_on/2008/02/your-life-story.html), I've just encountered a new book based on a joint Smith Magazine and Twitter Contest. The book is called Not Quite What I was Planning: Six-Word Memoirs by Writers Famous and Obscure. I haven't seen the book yet, but go to Larry's blog to read about it, with some samples and some links.

Here's a quote from the smithmag.net web site:

"Surprisingly addictive, Not Quite is both a moving peek at the minutia of humanity and the most literary toilet reading you’ll ever find."

I wish I'd known about this contest; I might have entered it. As it is, I still intend to give the idea a try. Talk about a challenge! Stay tuned; if and when I come up with six golden words about my life, I'll post them here. Meanwhile, give it a try yourself.

Update: 2/09: Here's what I've come up with so far. I'll keep trying.

"Seventy-five, wrinkled, writing, still enjoying life!"
