More Exercise for the Mind: A Rictameter About Awards

Suddenly, I had the urge to write another rictameter. Until I come up with another crazy idea, I think I'll return to the old one. This time, I think I'll try using the letters of the alphabet for inspiration. I more or less got the idea from http://www.goinglikesixty.com/, at least the alphabet part. As usual, I invite you to try the same thing in any form you choose, poetic or otherwise.

About Awards

Awards.
Major, minor,
Contests, honors, trophies,
Silly, serious, monetary,
Feel-good gestures, self-promotion, surprise:
No matter what the source of praise
We all love accolades,
Recognition,
Awards.

I love your rictameters. I used the idea in a recent writing group that I led. The group really liked the experience also. I will be looking forward to your 26 rictameters--another book?

I really love writing rictameters (and other things), but perhaps I've self-published enough books. I guess I write mostly for myself. Actually, I like the book layout and formatting process too.

This is so true!
I'm happy you are in the mood to write more of these; it'll give me something to look forward to.

BTW, I just read your "about me" again. There's something about it that gives me strength.

Hi,
I just found your site.
I started my blogging as exercise for the mind and a hobby about 6 months ago.
Now I am hooked on it. I also wrote about our family's adventures for the 1970's until present on building our homes(ourselves) called the Young Dreamers. I enjoyed doing those chapters.
I also plan on coming back here to read your posts on writing. I have enjoyed my visit today.

Sorry if this prints twice, I am having blogger comment trouble today.

Have a good day.
Pam
