Rictameter of the Day: Laughter Joy

Laughter Joy

L
aughter.
Unexpected
Tonic, joy, reviver.
We may disagree on what is
Humorous, but we must not give up our
Sense of wonder, never lose our
Natural urge to search for
Funny things, for
Laughter.

Thanks! I enjoy writing them, and I'm glad to discover at least a few readers!

This has a roundabout connection with my day that I think you'll understand. You mentioned a friend's suicide in an earlier comment. A close family friend (87 yr-old male, gone deaf) committed suicide in May. His daughter wrote in graphic detail, but included a truly hysterical observation (she has the gift of comedy). Today I attended the memorial service for my best friend's 19-yr-old nephew who suicided last week. At buffet lunch afterward I conveyed the one-liner given me by the elderly friend's daughter...and my best friend broke into laughter with me. She was still crying, but laughing too.
Your rictameter was perfect for today.

No, I've never had a friend commit suicide, but I'm glad my little poem struck a chord.
