Rictameter of the Day: Morning, Retiree Style

Morning, Retiree Style

M
orning.
Time to arise,
Drink coffee, start the day
With energy and courage, hope
For good news, ideas, plans for times of
Action, achievement, good friends to
Fill the day with plans to
Face another
Morning.

Hey Marlys--I love these clever poems! They're pithy, succinct and delightful! What's the origin of them? I've always loved haiku, but these are terrific. I found your blog via Ronni Bennett's and enjoyed all I've read so far.

If you like, click on over to my blog when you like. Thanks for your energy and joy. I was an English professor, too, who turned into a reentry adult instructor, and also an international student advisor at our local community college for some 27 years. Boy do I miss those students!!

Cheers, ~Kathi

Kathi:
I'll check out your blog. I love rictameters. You can find the origins on Wikipedia or in the introduction to my book, "Elder Expectations: My Life in Rictameters." You can see the preface without buying the book; just scroll down the sidebar to click on "See a preview" under the book picture and turn to page four on screen. Yes, I miss my students sometimes, but after nine years, I'm glad to be retired.
